Neurocognitive rehabilitation is a way of helping you to improve your mental functioning and skills through use of specialized cognitive approaches and behavioral strategies. Patients are given education regarding their specific areas of difficulty and given a course of restorative exercises, and compensatory strategies in order to improve their attention, concentration, memory, language, or behavioral functioning. Techniques are geared to improve their function in daily tasks, school, and work. Assignments are given to help patients practice at home, work, or school.
