Anxiety happens to people almost everyday. Excessive worrying, apprehensiveness, restlessness, irritability, and feeling easily fatigued are just a few symptoms of anxiety. The worry and physical symptoms of anxiety can cause significant distress and impairment in a person’s social, occupational or other important areas of functioning. Shortened attention span, reduced concentration, and poor memory can also accompany anxiety.
Anxiety can usually be treated with psychotherapy (including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), EMDR and relaxation techniques) as well as biofeedback. These are the most common treatments for anxiety. Physician consultation for medication can also be made, if needed.
